Children’s art party on traffic-free, “open streets” Newkirk Avenue featuring free supplies & activities from 1:00-6:00, Bluegrass from The Melody Allegra Band (1:30-3:30), Double Dutch by Elite BKLYN Jumpers (4:00-6:00) & music from the Unison Steel Drum Group (4:00-6:00)!

About Beautify Brooklyn
More than 100 children will collaborate to create a colorful, original and expressive street mural, on the literal street and sidewalks of Newkirk Avenue in Flatbush. With guidance from professional artists and with live music and magic for inspiration, kids of all ages and backgrounds will get to work together to create a massive work of art, with supplies provided free of charge! At the end of the day our streets and sidewalks and other surfaces will be covered with the inspired and beautiful vision of Brooklyn’s youth!
The day begins with artmaking activities that will run continuously throughout the program and an invigorating Bluegrass set from The Melody Allegra Band. Following that jam, the day continues with mystery and awe courtesy of the Amazing Ken Magic Show and then a double dutch performance by Elite BKLYN Jumpers and powerful upbeat and danceable music from Unison Steel Drum Group!
